The irony of this forum however is the excessive waiting time it takes for anything you post to actually appear on the forums. Most forums I belong to posting is instantaneous. i.e. it is immediately visible to everyone on the forum.
Rather than having a moderator review every post, you could just have a button along side every post which says "report forum misuse". This will both save the time of someone having to moderate and even more importantly become a true collaboration tool.
Thank-you for hosting this forum as it has this far been a very valuable learning resource for me. More importantly, it has forced me to wonder about questions I would have not thought of otherwise.

"oops. my mistake."
Ok, everyone is allow one every now and then.
Your point is spot on; in fact I left the forum because it's completely out of control; it has turned into a chest thumping session where everyone is trying to out do everyone else.
I agree with you Michelle; If we apply our own value adding principles, then there is no need for a moderator (sorry Jane).

Bill,
No offense taken. This is an issue we have wrestled with on and off around the forums.
Please know that we are looking at doing an upgrade to our forums software this year, and will likely be running some experiments - perhaps letting certain categories be completely open, or allowing certain community members to act as moderator is order to speed up the posting rate. We will just have to see what happens.
