Dear John,
I tried posting some files in response to your question, but they
were too large. Perhaps the subsequent posts will get through to
your post. There should be 3 files in all: a blank data collection
sheet that our Team Leaders print off and use on their rounds, an
Excel spreadsheet in which they enter their data across all 3
shifts, and a set of instructions for using the spreadsheet. I hope
this helps give you a head start on implementing your OEE
system.
Regards,
Sarah

Dear John:
Attached is a basic data collection sheet that our Team Leaders use
to make their rounds every 2hrs, (record their reason codes for
performance/quality/availability problems), and a basic Excel
spreadsheet we use to calculate the Cell's OEE over the 24hr
period. I hope this gives you a head start toward building your OEE
system.
Regards,
Sarah

John
find attached a basic sheet compeled by operators in a mould
shop.
You will need to think about the categories of downtime etc....and
give the users some basic OEE instruction !

If you save the Excel document as different name on your computer you should be able to unprotect the sheet and make modifications - no password needed.

Sara, why do you do your data collection manually. Have you looked
at the Traksys solution?

The Japanese prefer that the owner of the info collects it himself
and so becomes the owner of it. By plotting it he becomes the
owner of the problems, and generates his A3 accordingly.

Sorry all. There are no passwords. Simply "unprotecting"
the sheet from the Tools menu will suffice. It merely deters those
less familiar with computers/Excel are entering the data from
making any "tragic" errors in formats or formulae.
I agree with Roger, that's why the area/cell/value stream owners
collect and store their own data so they remain the first line fo
defense in attacking problems.
