Hello,
I am looking for an excellent SMED training game - package set.
My focus is on a box with tools inside to start with long time and than by using smarter tools step by step reach shorter and shorter time - if there would be poka yoke implemented or error proofing too - it would be great.
I already find some offers (shops) but the carts were not so smart as I demand.
Do you know somebody really best set for SMED training?
Thank you for help.

HI Zybna

I have been using a SMED simulation activity for the last few years that might suit your requirements. It using a small hand press and runs through the four step approach to set up reduction. It all packs into a wheeled tool box, the tools are all included made from aluminium etc. It does look like a professional package.

If you would like more details, price, leadtime etc. just drop me an email at stuart.veitch@industryforum.co.uk

Hope this is of interest.

Hi

I have attached some small pictures of "Little Bertha" that we use as a simulation for SMED. As you can see, there is a press provided with tooling, it comes with all required tools and components and a very detailed instruction manual.

The approach we follow is the standard four step approach; Understand current situation, separate External from Internal, convert Internal to External and finally eliminate waste. The game has been used extensively in many different manufacturing environments such including automotive, aerospace, food, construction equipment etc. with some very good results.

Hope this is of use.

Stuart

Our company has designed one such game that simulates the process rather well (from what the customer we designed it for says). It uses easily acquired Lego or Mega Bloks building blocks.

Those having tested it say it was easy to operate and drove the point home nicely.

You can check it out at our website,ELSE Inc. SMED Simulation
