For about 8 months ago, I conducted a "short" course about Lean philosophy for students studying to production engineers. I will now "evaluate" theirs knowledge and understanding about Lean. I thought let them discuss in groups about Lean (ca 1.5 - 2 hrs). Are there any of you who have a good suggestion / tips on how such an exercise task might be prepared. What questions or topics, should I ask students to discuss about and how will they present this. They will present results of the discussion for other groups (about 15 min / group).

At the beginning of the course, did you make clear what the goal (value) of the training was to be? Did you make clear what the specific points of the training you intended to cover? If you did, assessment is easy. Ask questions regarding these topics. If not, assessment is more difficult. All training should, at the outset, make clear to the participants what is expected of them. It is a "contract" between you and the participants.

What will 2 hours of a group of students talking, that have not experienced lean, produce?

Better to use the two hours in an exercise, even something as simple as a lego building or airplane building exercise to "experience" before and after lean.
