1. Situation: I run a two-day kaizen on small-scoped admin processes for a mid level, midsized company. While "training the participants" is worthwhile, the key goal for my kaizen event is implementable countermeasures.

2. Problem: Few of my kaizen participants seem to be able to carry over the lean training on the morning of the first day into the current state mapping and countermeasure brainstorming.

3. Background: I've tried pre-event homework, longer training, all the toast videos, and team competitions. I've skipped all training and jumped into current state mapping, providing Just In Time training. I've tried current state mapping THEN training. I've assigned "Waste Watchers" for each type of waste. All are OK but I would like to hear more countermeasures based on lean, not pre-event ideas (I still get too many "work harder, punish them more, this time is different" proposals.)

4. Question: So, in the classic tradeoff between "time spent training' and "time spent solving the problem" what have you found to help carry over training into the mapping and solutions?

Thanks.

There would probably be one introductory course and one green belt course. (at least to start).

What are the recommended textbook(s)?

Thanks.

Hi guys,
Me and my partner are currently writing our master thesis about how to adapt the VSM-technique to a low volume high value production environment. We have read all the basic literature as Learning to see, Toyota Way etc to get some theretical knowledge about the subject.

Our question is if anyone have any good suggestions on other literature to read, for instance case studies where this method has been used in this type of environment?

Best Regards
Oscar Lindfors

Hi all,

Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is Ada, and I am a Master student. Currently, I'm doing a research on lean manufacturing implementation in Malaysia industry.

Prior to releasing the final version of the instrument (questionnaire), I'm conducting a pilot study to test whether the instrument is reliable or not.

Thus, I am asking from all of you (especially those who are in the industry) to spend few minutes in answering my questionnaire. The link is as below;

http://www.eSurveysPro.com/Sur...9a9-9a7b-8cd81da8b53e

And if there are confusions while answering the questionnaire, kindly provide feedback and suggestions in order for me to further improvise my questionnaire.

I'm hoping for 20-30 response for me to be able to analyse the data,

Thank you in advance for your help and cooperation.

Warmest regards,
Ada
