I am looking for information on the effects of lean on the human element. Womack [1996, The psychology of lean production. Applied Psychology, 45/2], challenged applied psychologist to do research on job (possible loss of), career paths, and responsiblity (fault of problems). Has anyone done research, especially empirical, on the psychological aspects of LP since then? I'm looking for what Womack was speaking to and also anything about job satisfaction, motivation, etc. from sources such as peer reviewed journals. Thanks for any help. JMT

Hi, I am not sure, whether this helps, but have a look at it: http://www.poms.org/Meeting2004/POMS_CD/Browse%20This%20CD/PAPERS/002-0066.pdf The title of the study is "The Effects of Just-in-Time_Lean Production on Worker Job Stress" Regards, Josef
