2010 Lean Healthcare Transformation Summit Opens Registration
#

Registration is now open for our first annual Lean Healthcare Transformation Summit, to be held June 9-10 in Orlando. Our website now has full details about the Summit and the optional Pre-Summit Workshops to be held on June 7 and 8.

The Summit will feature a keynote by John Toussaint, M.D., CEO of the ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value and co-author of the upcoming book On The Mend: Revolutionizing Healthcare to Save Lives and Transform the Industry, as well as plenary sessions by senior leaders from ThedaCare and Group Health. A wide variety of breakouts and learning sessions will cover topics such as A3 thinking, end-to-end patient flow, facilities and process design, lean in emergency departments, and new lean models for primary care and inpatient care. Other organizations that will be presenting include University of Michigan Health System, Iowa Health System, Hôtel- Dieu Grace Hospital, Park Nicollet Health Services, and Mercy Medical Center.
We hope to see you and your colleagues in Orlando!

Free Webinar: How We React to Problems, Is a Problem
#

Our reaction to problems makes a big difference in whether or not we successfully create a culture that supports a sustainable lean transformation. The trouble is that our
organizations come with hidden rules "baked in" that guide how we react to problems and steer other leadership behaviors.

So before real lean changes can take root, we need to uncover and discuss these organizational rules. Learn how during our free April 8 webinar "Transformational Leadership: understanding the hidden rules of engagement." LEI faculty member Jim Luckman will show you a way to uncover these rules and implement countermeasures.
