Is there any standard width allowance for a workstation that is "on the line" in an industrial meat processing facility? I need to quantify how much space each person needs to have "elbow room" to work.

Are the employees sitting or standing at the work station? If sitting, a rule of thumb would be 30 to 36 inches. There are other factors to determine how close the positions can be and be comfortable.
