Dave Pericak

Engineering Director, Unibody/Lincoln Programs

Dave Pericak is the Engineering Director for Unibody/Lincoln Programs.  In this role, Pericak is responsible for leading the Ford Motor Company & Lincoln Motor Company’s engineering organization (Exterior, Interior, Electrical, and Chassis functions), including total Engineering program profitability.

As director, Pericak is the executive operational leader of a cross functional organization with numerous programs for car, small/medium CUV/SUV, and Lincoln Programs including cost, quality, timing, and milestone robustness from program start to launch. Pericak leads the engineering for programs including Explorer, Lincoln MkC, Lincoln Aviator, and Escape, Ford’s next EV vehicle, and other future programs. He manages all elements of program delivery including applying consumer insights and futuring, growth and emerging market opportunities, and financial/profit delivery.

Prior to his role as the Engineering Director, Pericak was the head of Ford Performance, which unified Ford SVT, Team RS and Ford Racing globally, serving as an innovation laboratory and test bed to create unique performance vehicles, parts, accessories and experiences for customers.  Prior to that, he was the chief nameplate engineer for the Ford Mustang, a position he began in mid-2008, leading the ongoing development of the fifth-generation model, including the Boss 302, as well as the creation of the all-new sixth-generation 2015 Mustang that launched in late-2014.

Pericak earned a mechanical engineering degree from Purdue University and a masters in engineering from Lawrence Technological University, and joined Ford as a manufacturing engineer in 1994. Pericak has gained experience in all aspects of vehicle development – from initial feasibility studies to sorting issues on the assembly line during launch.

Pericak is a hands-on leader who prefers to be in the garage, laboratory, driving on the test track or out on the factory floor where he can be aware of what’s happening on programs and help keep them moving forward. Pericak sees his role as doing what is necessary to enable the capable people on his team to exceed their targets and create the best products they can.

Away from work, Pericak owns a 1968 Mustang, a 2000 Mustang GT convertible, a 2012 Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca and the latest addition; a 2015 Mustang Limited Edition in Wimbledon White. Pericak is married with two young children that each have their own Mustangs in the garage, although not powered by gasoline…yet.
