Dan has been a baseball pitcher, Zen student, engineer and was an assistant to motivation expert Frederick Hertzberg while getting a Ph.D. in psychology. He felt learned about lean production while an internal change agent at Cummins Engine. He later consulted for the Kaizen Institute of America and others. He leads workshops for the American Society for Quality (ASQ), Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) and LEI. His kaizen and VSM standard work can be downloaded at Lucidmeetings.com. His book on The Sensei Way is forthcoming in 2019.
