Hospitals have been relying on heroics and firefighting to save the day, resulting in a lot of people putting safety and quality at risk while increasing costs. Facing the need to improve, some have bravely turned to lean thinking. But this new way of thinking can be incompatible with the old top-down, hero-based system of management that presides in today's healthcare culture.

Kim Barnas, former senior vice president at ThedaCare, author, and faculty member at the ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value, will share how her team created a management system; one that is stable and lean, from frontline supervisors to the president and how it created a new culture of continuous improvement. Through this continuing journey, Barnas now has a necessary road map for a better healthcare system that you can customize for your organization to navigate the obstacles ahead.

Join Barnas, author of the book Beyond Heroes, A Lean Management System for Healthcare, for this 60-minute free webinar on the highlights of how she and her team created a Lean Management System through a series of experiments at ThedaCare in Appleton, WI

Barnas will cover how-to:

  • Create and sustain a system of continuous improvement aligned with strategic goals.
  • Cascade information effectively throughout the organization.
  • Implement a system where employee coaching and mentoring occur on a daily basis.
  • Build standard work for executives at the gemba to support daily continuous improvement.
  • Plus: Your questions

You will also learn the elements of the lean management system:

  • Team Huddles
