About the Presenter:
A former senior vice president at ThedaCare, author, and faculty member at the ThedaCare Center for Healthcare Value, Kim Barnas has played key roles in ThedaCare's 10-year lean journey.
When the ThedaCare Improvement System started with value-stream mapping followed by improvement events and projects, Barnas led two of the initial efforts for OB and Cancer Services. As the journey continued, Barnas and her team led development of a lean management system to sustain improvement, clarify daily continuous improvement opportunities, and deliver on strategic deployment. The management system is designed to deliver improved performance through a predictable process that develops leaders, identifies defects, solves problems and develops people.
Barnas holds a master's in healthcare administration.
