Overcoming Inertia: More Talk, More Action Through Kaizen Methodology

Does your company initiate process improvement initiatives yet fails to generate meaningful change? Or, perhaps worse, does your organization succeed in identifying transformative improvement opportunities only to run out of steam before their achievement?

In this session, we will describe how Amadeus Hospitality utilizes kaizen to push transformation from isolated project-based changes to new sustainable daily ways of working.Results include elimination of additional headcounts, millions of dollars in direct savings, and better process improvement focus through a dramatic reduction in nonvalue-added work.

You’ll learn:

  • Why Amadeus uses kaizen as its primary transformation tool;
  • How our kaizen event planning ensures participation is perceived as a value-added activity;
  • How effective communication strategies engage all levels of the organization and right-set expectations;
  • How we manage the on-going outcomes of multiple kaizen events through project leaders, change agents, and program management;
  • What happens when we fully embrace measurements and reporting results, turning both good and less-than-expected results into powerful messages;
  • What we have learned (and changed) along the way.
