Design better processes that drive results – on time and at launch.

In today’s fast-paced environment, organizations must move beyond fixing broken processes. They must build learning, align teams early, and design processes that are ready to perform as intended at launch—rather than requiring months of fixes and adjustments afterward.

This one-day workshop introduces a practical, systems-based approach to Lean Process Development. Participants will explore the 6CONx framework, which guides cross-functional teams through a structured development cycle: from understanding context and generating concepts to confirming readiness and enabling continuous improvement.  The purpose of Introduction to Lean Process Development is to equip attendees with an approach to design lean principles and practices into their processes from the start—helping teams build the right process the first time while developing capability for the future.

Learning Objectives:

You’ll walk away with a clear understanding of:

  • The foundational principles of lean process development
  • The dual challenge of process development: The Work of designing a successful value stream and the Process of managing and spreading new ways of working
  • How to apply the 6CONx model to guide development featured in the book The Power of Process – A story of Innovative Lean Process Development (a copy of the book will be provided for each attendee)
  • How to visualize, test, and improve your development plan using tools like Obeya, glide paths, and motion analysis
  • How to begin applying this thinking in your own organization

Who Should Attend

This workshop is ideal for anyone responsible for developing or improving processes that deliver products or services. In particular:

  • Product Engineers developing or refining new systems
  • Product Managers coordinating across functions
  • Project Managers driving process and operational change
  • Cross-functional team members involved in launching new work streams

Whether you’re in manufacturing, healthcare, or a service environment, if you’re developing new processes or systems and want to build in learning, clarity, and capability—this workshop is for you.
