11 Lean Manufacturing and Management Workshops Coming to Minnesota

Cambridge, Mass., July 25, 2011 — Implementing lean management principles in manufacturing, distribution, and supply chains are major tracks in a series of lean workshops scheduled by the Lean Enterprise Institute for Minneapolis, MN, Sept. 13-15, 2011.

The curriculum  also addresses lean manufacturing’s key concepts, value-stream mapping for manufacturing and office environments, and how to implement lean concepts in service environments. The curriculum is:

Sept. 13
-5S: the Visual Workplace
-Integrating Visual Management Tools and Leader Standard Work
-Key Concepts of Lean: Understanding the Toyota Production System
-Sustainable Lean Culture:
-Value-Stream Mapping for Manufacturing
-Value-Stream Mapping for the Office and Service

Sept. 14
-Getting the Right Things Done
-Lean Warehousing and Distribution Operations

Sept. 15
-Building the Lean Fulfillment Stream: Supply Chain and Logistics Management
-Kaizen: The Culture of Continuous Improvement
-Lean Problem Solving

Pricing and Discounts
Workshops will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Marquette Hotel, Minneapolis. One-day workshops are $800. Two-day workshops are $1,600. Discounts of $50 to $100 are available through Aug. 14.
