Executive Director, Partnerships and Senior Coach, Lean Enterprise Institute
Lara Anderson is a trainer and coach supporting organizations of all sizes to improve their operations and develop their people so they can deliver more of what their customers value. Since 2014, she has been fortunate to support many of LEI’s co-learning partners across a wide-range of industries including healthcare, retail, supply chain and construction. Her strengths are in individual coaching and designing training and learning experiences that engage the learner, improve performance capabilities and help organizations achieve business goals.
Lara’s early career began at Starbucks Coffee with 15 years’ experience managing multiple retail stores and teams of people. She also worked in Training and Development and Project Management at Starbucks Coffee’s corporate office, during which time she was introduced to lean thinking.
Lara assisted in the development and global implementation of a lean system of work at over 10,000 Starbucks Coffee retail stores. The new system of work made the work easier for store team members, enabling them to serve more customers and deliver higher quality products. This experience was the first time Lara was able to coach leaders at all levels to use lean thinking to develop their understanding of work improvement and problem solving and practice leading front-line workers in a new way to enable problem solving.
Lara has an undergraduate degree from Whitworth University and a Master’s degree in Organizational Management and Development from Fielding Graduate University.
