Workshops set for the Lean Enterprise Institute’s Southeast regional training in Jacksonville, FL, Dec. 6-8, 2011, develop managers’ lean leadership skills as well as the capability of employees to perform such critical lean activities as problem solving.
The curriculum at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront includes two new workshops: Lean Thinking for Executives and TWI: Job Instruction. It also includes a “lunch and learn” with LEI CEO John Shook on Dec. 7.
The executive session helps senior leaders and line managers with the tough job of moving from implementing lean tools to changing the organization’s fundamental approach to management to create a problem-solving culture. TWI (Training Within Industry) is based on the highly successful program developed during WWII that enabled the U.S. to rapidly hire and train new workers as problem solvers. The complete curriculum is:
Dec. 6
– Coaching Skills for Lean Implementation Leaders.
– Management Standard Work.
– Managing to Learn: The Use of the A3 Management Process (two days)
Dec. 7
– Getting the Right Things Done (two days).
– Lean Problem Solving.
Dec. 8
