Learning to See Using Value-Stream Mapping

Discover how to move from a scatter-shot improvement approach — or worse, firefighting — that leads nowhere to a process that helps you develop a blueprint of improvements that will achieve your organization’s objectives. Upon completion, your team will be able to:

  • Execute the value-stream mapping process.
  • Establish a direction for the company’s improvement efforts, ensuring that improvement efforts eliminate problems customers deeply care about
  • Gain a better understanding of the linkages between material and information flow
  • Create the basis for an effective lean implementation plan by designing how your organization’s door-to-door material and information flow could ideally operate
  • Give operators, engineers, and managers a common language and process for continuous improvement]
  • Avoid the common mistake of cherry-picking individual lean tools, which creates isolated islands of improvement and limited benefits
  • Plus, the workshop is based on the tested and proven methodology created for LEI’s popular Learning to See workbook , translated into 16 languages, and recipient of a Research Award from the Shingo Institute at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, Utah State University

* Live coaching is not included in the this bundle.

Hear What Our Customers Are Saying:

This was an excellent course. The topics were organized into a method of integrating video, slides, and articles providing real live examples of the application of the thought process and lean tools. Applying lean tools without basic lean thinking will not take us very far in a lean journey. This course provides insightful questions challenging the student to reflect deeply on the material just learned and how to apply it in their daily work. I highly recommend this course to employees of all organizations from the shop floor to the CEO.

—Christy Leite, L3Harris Technologies, Inc

The program has been really good, spelling out the history and purpose. There are lots of mapping tools, and a company’s approach to (or not to) map makes the confusion factor worse. This program has done a nice job of setting the story straight!

—Kao Akana, Alliance Machine Systems International

This course was thorough in delivering the knowledge regarding lean concepts and how they work, the content was easy to follow and easy to digest.

—Andrew Gardler, AEAG Inc.

This is just what I needed. I have just recently started my career in manufacturing and what I have learnt from this course comes in handy. I highly recommend for all engineers.

—Patience Onakpoya, MacDon Industries Ltd

Very organized and professionally delivered.

—William Butdorf, Aerojet Rocketdyne Inc
